Lack of public respect for funeral corteges? We are not so sure
Some public research performed recently suggested that the public do not give respect to the dead in the way they once did. Or more specifically, due deference is not being given to the funeral cortege and that other road users may refuse to allow a cortege to pull forward at a junction or even to overtake it.
So much has this been a concern that on 12th September, a question was asked in the House of Commons to the Secretary of State for Transport whether a new offence could be created to discourage drivers from overtaking a funeral cortege, for a more detailed overview see: http://www.theyworkforyou.com/wrans/?id=2011-09-12b.70273.h&m=40308
Our own research does not support this dim view of society - see our blog article to find out why at www.tapperfuneralservice.co.uk/blog
