Remembrance Service in Harbour Lodge

Last Sunday’s Remembrance Service at Harbour Lodge proved to be very popular and a great success. Around 45 people attended, to remember someone they have lost personally, but also to reflect on a general theme of remembrance as we do at this time of year, with Remembrance Sunday and All Souls Day.

John Taylor led a short service that reflected on these themes, singing the great patriotic hymn ‘Jerusalem’ following which poppies were distributed for people to write their own personal message of remembrance. John read a story ‘Information Please’ which is becoming a popular reading for people who are bereaved; it can be found by visiting: http://www.telephonetribute.com/a_true_story.html . ‘I can’t tell you how much yesterday’s service meant to us’ one family noted to John after the service.

We now move on to planning the Christmas Carol Remembrance Service at Harbour Lodge on December 22nd.
