SUMMER/AUTUMN NEWS 2011

Well summer has finally arrived with a glorious October! As seems to have been the trend in the last few years, our actual summer was somewhat of a disappointment with low temperatures and a lot of cloud.

It was beneficial to the plants and trees at Harbour View though and we hope that the recent warm weather will give a good colour to the leaves this autumn. The warm spring did mean that there was a lot of blossom in the Orchard area resulting in plenty of fruit on the trees.

Despite the disappointing weather during the summer we did manage to organise a picnic at Harbour View. A String Quartet from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra entertained those that came along with some wonderful well known classics. We were extremely lucky with the weather, it was a beautiful evening with plenty of sunshine. The feedback on the event has been very positive so we hope to repeat it again next summer.

There will be a Service of Remembrance with Rev John Taylor on October 23rd, more details will be on the Harbour View website or you can telephone Harbour View on 01202 630111. Refreshments will be served following the service. Everybody is welcome to attend.

In our winter newsletter, details were given of the work that was due to commence on the new facilities. Unfortunately there has been a delay and so to avoid heavy ground work through the winter months are now looking to start work Spring/Summer 2012. Updates will be provided on our web sites
